We are so proud of each and every one of our Action Karate Plymouth Meeting students, and love to brag about them whenever we can!
Joe Getsy has been a student at our school for 15 years, since our beginning in 2000.
He diligently worked his way from a white belt in our Children’s Program up to a Third Degree Black Belt in our Adult Program…pausing only to attend college at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA.
Always eager to learn and improve, Joe took full advantage of every possible avenue of self-improvement offered. He worked very hard to become a multiple-time Action Karate Tournament sparring champion. He was a member of our Demonstration team for over a decade. He also endeavored to become a karate instructor, taking advantage of our Leadership Team Program course of study.

Most recently, Joe spent this past summer at Harvard working towards advanced academic degrees in medicine, biology, and genetics, and was recently featured on a CNN news report highlighting his work on DNA genome editing. Now THAT is a man who is driven to succeed!
We’re excited by Joe’s success, and love watching him apply the “can-do attitude” that Action Karate Plymouth teaches our students to his endeavors through adulthood. Way to go Joe!
