For many years, several karate organizations have attempted to bring karate back to the Olympics. After two failed attempts, Olympic karate is FINALLY making its return. What better place to rekindle the world’s love for karate than at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan!
This is excellent recognition of the entire Martial Arts community, and brings great exposure to the art of karate. The inclusion of karate in the Olympics will lead many students at Action Karate Plymouth Meeting and beyond to chase their hopes and dreams. We’re certain it will inspire an entire generation of talented competitors to perfect their knowledge of this ancient craft.
Karate is more than a sport. It encourages students to connect with the spiritual side of the practice, improving upon their lives, world perspectives, and attitudes. Just imagine the effect it would have on the world if more people were exposed to the beauty of martial arts!
We haven’t seen any cultural movements attracting students to the world of karate since the ’70s and ’80s, when Hollywood capitalized on the growing trend. Famous stars like Chuck Norris and beloved characters like Mr. Miyagi drew scores of new students to their local dojos and martial art schools. We are looking forward to seeing the people’s love of this amazing sport rekindled as the 2020 Olympics draw nearer.
If you’ve been inspired to start your karate training, we’re here for you! Let Action Karate Plymouth Meeting guide you on your path to gold…whether it’s an Olympic medal or a much needed lifestyle change, you deserve nothing but the best!
